But what about parking?

Updated: Jul 4

NOTE: DO NOT PARK IN TARGET OR OTHER NEIGHBORING LOTS OR YOU MAY BE TOWED.

At this time there is no remote lot in the vicinity of the market to suit our increased parking needs.

FREE parking on the east and west sides of the building. Police and traffic staff will direct you to the available side. Lots rotate due to capacity variations. Handicapped parking is available on both sides.

Please be mindful of where you park. The lot is marked for bulk concert parking and not individual spots. Do not triple park.

After 32 years, the 2024 season has brought greater customer and vendor attendance. This began last October 2023. We now regularly host 14,000 customers and over 700 sellers per Sunday.

But why so busy now? Fast forward to 2023-2024 and certain new trends are shaping the market.

The Wolff family is grateful that more people are choosing to sell and shop with us and truly thank you all from our hearts. We cherish our loyal returning shoppers and sellers - some who are multi-generational and have been with us since 1991.

New generations and seller populations are finding us! Social media has helped spread the word - without additional advertising. Trending now are early-bird shoppers and sellers (midnight-6am), inflation fighting prices, thrifters, new, small, independent businesses, vintage clothing, collectibles, pallet sales, crafting. All these are balanced with the traditional fare of antiques, art, jewelry, cards, comics, books, tools, garden, plants, produce, decor and most every other category. We are a successful and safe space for businesses to promote their products to a large population.

We ourselves are a small family owned business and are right out there with you, working and walking the market in person. Our standards are high as far as merchandise, communication, cleanliness and decorum. We offer wholesome family fun, eclectic merchandise, great food and an overall social, positive vibe that brings thousands of people of all generations and cultures together for Wolff's Flea Market Sundays.

So yes we are reckoning with the fact that because the market operates in a finite physical space we sometimes overflow. At times we limit vendor spaces in order to leave spots to accommodate customer parking. But we recognize that during our busiest hours, customers have a difficult time finding a space. We cannot control how many people choose to attend on a given day. We recognize frustrations and disappointments on both sides. Believe us when we say it is difficult to turn away disappointed sellers or shoppers, but it has happened.

But wait a minute... what about the empty  spaces you see in the lot?

  1. Police rotate parking lots. It is not efficient to do a "1 car out, 1 car in" process. They wait for an optimal number of open spaces and then allow a group of cars in. Standard.

  2. On days with Sunday evening events, some parking areas are reserved for their stage and staff vehicles. This will cut into available customer parking and could cause us to limit vendor spots. And, no, you won't see signs with this information. Parking staff know this but don't have time to explain to individuals without causing back ups. Please just follow along. The 2 Sunday evening dates with the most challenging parking situations were May 19 and June 30. As of now, there are no Sunday evening events planned on open market days until October 27. We continue to work with the Allstate Arena on their needs, and adapt and abide with their requirements. Always check our current schedule.

  3. Sometimes event staff lots will reopen and sometimes it will not.

Please be patient, brave, calm and kind as we go through these current growing pains at our home in Rosemont. We continue to work on the parking process and will share information as it becomes available.
